The eshop has been updated once again with several new games and one new app. The list of new releases goes as follows: DOOM, L.A. Noire, Rocket League, Snipperclips DLC, Batman-The tellale series, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, RiME, UNO, Ittle Dew 2+, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, ACA NEOGEO Street Hoop, Rock’N Racking Off Road DX, Ben 10, Tallowmere, Maria The Witch, Cat Quest, Spellspire, Super Putty Squad, Koi DX, Hulu. Doom is a game that released last year on all the other major platforms and was a real big success. Doom is a remake of an old classic that started the First Person Shooter genre. This game is a huge release for the Nintendo Switch itself because of the fact that people consider Nintendo consoles family friendly and also not 3rd party friendly. This critically acclaimed game will make or break the Nintendo Switch, even though this game has been released before. The only reason being that this is the first mature rated 3rd party game that has been released on the system. If it sells well this could be continuing trend for future 3rd party games. Another big game being released is Rocket League. Rocket League is an esport game, a professional game, where people play all over the world and have won thousands of dollars to play. It is no surprise how big of a deal this is; now a person can play a game that is played across multiple platforms on the go. The best part is that this game has cross platform play, meaning that people on the Nintendo Switch can play their friends who have Xbox or PC. That in itself is amazing for the fact that you can play your friends from any platform on the go. Just another triple a game that made it on the Nintendo Switch platform. Another big release on the eshop is not even a video game it is an application. Hulu was just released on the Nintendo Switch. I know many people have the capability to use hulu on other platforms, but putting it on the Nintendo Switch is a huge step forward. Portability is the main reason, not everyone has an IPad or likes to watch shows on their phone, now there is another option with the Switch, which could also make the way for other apps like Netflix or YouTube. Maybe one day they might even release their own Nintendo channel.
