Splatoon 2 holiday update
Nintendo continues with the additional content for Splatoon 2 for Nintendo Switch. It is now adding two new, free, updates to the game with the first one coming out on November 23 and one on November 24. There will be a second free update available for download in the middle of December. The first free update adds a new stage for the Salmon Run, new gear and hairstyles for the inkling characters and the next day it would bring in new battle stages for players to use. The second update coming in the middle of December will finally add a brand new ranked battle mode called Clam Blitz. This mode will have players pick up clams around the multiplayer map and try to land them in their opponent basket. The maps they are releasing for the community are both old favorites from the original Splatoon and new maps that have never been seen before which should change the dynamic of the game. There is about Approximately 140 pieces of new gear being added to the game. Including shoes, headgear, and shirts, even clothes that would go perfect for the holidays. New music has been added to ramp up the momentum of the game. Nintendo has also raised the level cap from level 50 to level 99, even adding an opportunity for players to reset their levels if need be, so they can keep adding to their level. One of the best features being added to the game is the ability to change gear in between different multiplayer battles. There has been too many times when I have been trying to change my weapons in between games, just to test it out. Before you would have to leave the match room and go all the way through the menu to change your weapons and gear, which made players stagnant and not want to change it. It has now become simple and easy for players to experiment. This is probably the biggest update that Nintendo has released for Splatoon 2. I am personally excited for how Nintendo has kept the consistency for the updates for their games all around. This keeps players returning to the games and keeps the Nintendo Switch fresh with the same games. The Nintendo Switch support is already surpassing its predecessor in the Wii U. With this amount of updates for this game, there should be no reason every game gets this kind of support.
